I. ART II. DESIGN III. CONTENT

Allure Dental Studio

I facilitated the launch of this dental laboratory aimed at specializing in dental implants and full mouth reconstruction. I continue to support them through all outbound marketing and brand design, primarily through education on their websites.

 THE CHALLENGE

It was the height of the 2008 financial crisis and Allure Dental Studio was entering into its first year of business. With nothing more than a basic brand outline in place, I was tasked with implementing and expanding the brand across web, print, and social. Everything from the art direction, to design, to photography, to motion graphics were created by me.

THE APPROACH

The founders of Allure Dental Studio emphasized a need to be viewed as the experts in their field. They wanted to have a clean and functional aesthetic that their doctors could trust. Understanding the needs of the founders and their doctors, I implemented a guiding rule that everything we made needed to connect with the website. Rx forms, educational resources – everything would be linked through a comprehensive website.

I. ART DIRECTION

Modern, Clean, and Functional were our three guiding design principles.

The initial naming and branding had been done by another designer before the launch of the company, which allowed me a platform to build upon. Everything would carry the same functional, minimalist design, from documents, to the website, to instructional videos.

On top of the main Allure Dental Studio Website, I also developed with them an implant-specific educational site we call the Implant Source. This expansion was met with immediate enthusiasm from many within the industry, which helped solidify Allure Dental Studio’s reputation as one of the best boutique dental laboratories in the United States.

 II. DESIGN

Easy to follow, bespoke Rx forms for any kind of case.

One part of the process we all agreed on from the start was all of the forms doctors were going to be using needed to be unique to Allure Dental Studio. We crafted each from the ground up to best fulfill their doctors’ needs. We made the designs modular, which allowed me to maintain a consistent look and flow, while making new forms seem familiar to doctors. The module design also allowed us to be flexible, in case we needed to change a form to meet a different need.

 III. CONTENT

Custom tutorial videos that made the mundane interesting.

A few years after the launch of Allure Dental Studio, it became clear that the site was in need of new informational content – something that could help relieve some of the time their master technicians spent answering questions on the phone. It resulted in the creation of a series of tutorial videos, starting with the most often asked about procedures.

I shot, edited, and animated each of videos, storyboarding out the flow of each before producing them. After the launch of the first three, doctors asked for more, and before we knew it, we had created a comprehensive program that would develop into the Implant Source.

 OUTCOME

Despite starting a company during the worst economic downturn of the last hundred years, Allure Dental Studio has been able to grow year-over-year from out of a garage into a five million dollar laboratory.
